Carpet Prespray Chemicals
Carpet Prespray Chemicals
Prespray chemicals are typically comprised of surfactants and solvents and do the heavy lifting of carpet cleaning. Carpet pre-sprays are sprayed on, then rinsed off the carpet, generally with a hot-water carpet extractor.
Ensure that you select a pre-spray based on the level of carpet soiling and the type of carpet; pre-sprays are formulated for either light or heavier soiling, different types of environments (a restaurant vs. an office, for example), and to work more specifically on different types of carpet (wool vs. nylon, etc.).
Once sprayed on, the cleaning process is often assisted by light agitation. For best results use a soft brush, carpet grooming rake, or cylindrical brush machine.
Always follow individual product instructions and some pre-sprays require a longer soak time, however, do not leave to dry. If the product has dried in carpet, do not respray. Use carpet extractor to remove and then respray if necessary.
